Woman injured in stone pelting incident in Sopore

Srinagar, A middle-aged woman was injured on Wednesday after a vehicle she was traveling in came under stone pelting in Sopore town.

Reports said that a private vehicle bearing registration number JK05 G0415 was on its way to Sopore when a group of youth pelted stones on it on Sopore-Bandipora highway near Rahim Sahaab area of Sopore, resulting in injuries to a woman and the vehicle also suffered damage.

The injured woman identified as Fareeda Begum, wife of Atawullah Bhat, a resident of Naidkhai, was referred SKIMS, Srinagar for the specialized treatment.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case and further investigations have been taken up.
